Nutrition to Nurture By
Altoona Family Child Care Center is a strong advocate against childhood obesity and a strong supporter of nutritional growth. We are a proud sponsor of the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
CACFP is a federally funded voluntary program that helps pay for the cost of serving healthy meals and snacks to participants in qualifying facilities. The CACFP also improves quality of care and makes it more affordable for many low-income families. Overall, wellness is an important part of providing quality care for children at Altoona Family Child Care Center. We strive each and every day to make healthy and nutritional meals.
Healthy eating and physical activity are two components of wellness that are encouraged by the CACFP. Through resources and educational opportunities offered, we as providers can increase daily movement, plan healthy menus, and improve the overall nutrition and physical activity environments at AFCCC.

The Fabulous World of Facebook
In class today I learned about "Facebook Privacy" and the what is available for "anyone" to see if you do not properly set up your Facebook privacy wall. These security systems with in your settings of Facebook make it able for you to block users from seeing your page, your posts, your pictures or even sending you a message.
My current settings in my "Facebook Privacy" made it able for anyone to contact me as well as see my pictures. That is a little scary that just anyone could come and look at my page and pictures of my children.
As soon as I learned this I immediately changed the setting to lock up my wall. I recommend that many of you do this as well. There are so many people in the world that you do not need perusing your sight and looking at pictures of you and your family.
